Do new volunteers need to register or undertake a DBS check?
No, for this publicity task people can volunteer anonymously, and no checks registration is required. However, we would love to hear from those who choose to get involved.
What safety precautions do I need to consider?
Please don’t put yourself at risk to deliver our leaflets. Take caution with slippery or uneven paths and any warnings about animals living at the property. You may want to let someone know where you are going and when you intend to return.
Is there an age limit for volunteers?
No but children should be supervised by an adult.
Should I deliver through doors with no junk mail notices?
Yes, this is a public information leaflet
Can I still take part if my street has already received leaflets?
Yes. We can let you know which streets near you have not received leaflets recently when you register with us.
Can I deliver the leaflet to areas outside the boundary map?
Please don’t deliver the KNA leaflet to areas outside the map. KNA can only register clients within the boundary area. We can however register volunteers from outside our area if they would prefer to volunteer in Kew. It should be noted there are other neighborhood care groups in Richmond that serve clients living in our neighbouring areas.
When should I deliver my leaflets?
It's never too soon to get started! We have designed this volunteering opportunity as one you could do over The Big Help Out weekend, 7 - 9 June 2024, but you don’t have to wait and if you are delayed for a few days that’s also fine!
What should I do with spare leftover leaflets?
We would love it if local businesses were happy to have our leaflets on display for their customers so if you are able to please ask a shop or service to display them. If you can’t do this please return to our postbox on Sandycombe Road to use again.
