Make a decoration for a neighbour this Christmas

Kew Residents we need your help to ensure every neighbour in need feels remembered this Christmas and knows our army of volunteers is willing to support them.  

We want you to make a festive nutcracker soldier decoration for a neighbour in Kew. Everyone can get involved! You can follow the simple template to the letter or add your own creative twist!

We are collecting your decorations from 3-16 December at The Shoe Station to share with 230+ of our existing clients. You can also give a nutcracker to any neighbour in Kew who may not know about KNA. And you can display your handiwork where your neighbours will see it! We'd love to see these festive troops right across the neighbourhood, just like our volunteers!

It's easy to help! 

1.   Get your kit

You'll need our nutcracker solider template you can get hold of one we've printed or print your own. You will also need scissors and tape or glue. 

  • Print at home– for best results, we recommend thin card, you can choose full-colour or colour your own.
  • Collect - from The Shoe Station, 12 Station Parade, Kew Gardens. 
  • Email us– We will seek a volunteer to deliver your template on foot
 
2.     Add your name

Let your recipient know who made their soldier and that it’s sent with love. There is a space on the stand and we have printed our contact details and information about our charity. It's much easier to write on the box before you start making! If you are colouring in it's a good idea to do this before moving onto the next step too. 

 

3.    Cut Fold Stick

Make your nutcracker soldier following the simple instructions. Add your own embellishments to him or her if you want to- it’s Christmas! 

 
4.     Share the love 
  • Do you know a neighbour who might appreciate a solider? Please check our KNA service area, to ensure your neighbour is included and make a socially distanced delivery to them!  
  • We are looking to collect soldiers to take to our clients in the run up to Christmas please drop of your completed solider before Wednesday 16 December 2020 to The Shoe Station, 12 Station Parade, Kew Gardens, TW9 3PZ. 
  • Unable to make a drop off? Email us by 14 December- we will arrange to collect from you. 
  • Can’t bear to be parted? Why not display your soldier where they’ll be seen by your neighbours?
