“A lot of the KNA volunteers are drivers and they drive their own cars. Now my problem is that I don’t have a car. So my volunteering has to be something that doesn’t involve driving or a car.
And so I do gardening mostly for elderly women whose gardens are getting a little bit out of hand and just need a little bit of help to keep them under control.
So there must be half a dozen whose people’s gardens I do, some have their husbands’ old tools and I use the tools, sometimes I have to take my own tools. Sometimes they have a way of getting rid of the rubbish, sometimes I have to take it away myself which I do with my trailer.”
